Recognition at High School Baseball Game this Tuesday
Coach Nathan is working on having the boys recognized before the high school varsity baseball game this Tuesday, July 12. This is something other youth teams have done in the past. Our boys would need to wear their full uniform (orange jersey). In previous years, youth players would be announced with the high school players...run with the high school players to their positions in the field...stand for the national anthem then run off the field. The format could be different though.
Once Coach Nathan finalizes times we'll get those sent to everyone, but to give everyone a rough idea we're thinking arrive by 6:30pm...announcement on the field could be anywhere between 6:45pm-7:15pm depending on how long the first game goes.
Coach Kyle and I have a football meeting at 7:30pm that night so we'll have to go to that, but everyone is welcome to stay and cheer on the Spartans after the announcement!

All-State Showcase Information
I wanted to get this out so everyone would have a chance to participate. Some of the boys have played in this previously, but this year we earned enough nominations to give everyone an opportunity.
On Saturday, July 23rd is the annual All-State Showcase in the Des Moines area. Players who participate are randomly placed on teams and will play 2 games. Cost is $75 and the boys get a t-shirt and an All-State ring. The deadline is July 12th so there isn't much time to decide.
