Just a reminder that this Saturday is the team picnic at the Cook House: 2427 Mount Pleasant Rd
Please arrive around 3pm, and bring bathing suits and towels for anyone who wants to swim. Immediate families welcome.
Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. Everyone with the last name beginning with A-M, please bring a side dish. Anyone beginning N-Z please bring a desert.
If you have any food allergies, please let us know. If you are NOT coming, please let us know as well. Otherwise, we will see everyone there Saturday!
P.S.- Just an FYI...the Donegal area home run derby ended up being scheduled for this Saturday as well. Younger kids start early in the day, up through 10u around the same time of our picnic.
Scrimmage & Concessions
First, please arrive at The Nook tonight (Thurs) around 5:30, if you can, to allow the kids a few minutes to warm up. We only have 1 1/2 hours on the diamond, and I want to make sure we maximize the time with Mountville.
Second, we have three dates that our team is required to run the concession stand at Kunkle this season. I realize some of you are new to the association, but it is mandatory for everyone in the MJAA. It is by far our biggest fundraiser, and how we manage to keep registrations low, and have still continued to provide great facilities and ongoing support to our kids, for almost 50 years now. I always leave the coaches exempt from this duty, as we are already volunteering our time every day. So I ask everyone else to pitch in. It's only one night for each family (kid). MOST of the time, there is only one 6pm game, and you are done by 8pm. Occasionally, especially as the weather effects games, there are 8pm games as well. I don't have a Kunkle schedule, but if this occurs on your date, you are asked to work both shifts. It's rare, but it happens. In this scenario, the coaches may be available to pitch in and help as well, if we are free. I, for one, am at Kunkle very often throughout the season.
The schedule is as follows(by child's name):
I leave this responsibility with you, along with my trust that you will handle it. Please do not leave your fellow team members stranded. If there is any reason that you cannot work your assigned night, I ask you to reach out to others far enough ahead of the date to make a switch. Just let me know via email if any changes are made. We have a great group here, and I know you will all come through.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
