Riverdogs March 24 update
Good evening everyone,
Matthew Frank has set our team up with an app called Game Changer and it could very well be, well, a game changer...By now you should have received an email inviting you to join. I will still be sending out emails with all the news that you will need throughout the season, but many of you might find the app to be an easier way to keep track of game/practice schedules, announcements, etc.
I picked up our uniforms tonight, but our hats are back ordered and should arrive in about a week. I intend to give out the uniforms at our practice this Monday. The practice is from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Bardonia elementary.
The middle of next week looks very promising weather wise. I want to gauge everybody's input/interest about a quick turnaround and having an outdoor practice in the middle of next week. Please think about it over the weekend so that you can share your thoughts with me at the end of Monday's practice.
The League still needs to sell some billboard space (the money generated helps to improve our children's experience). While I have already secured a sponsor for our team this year, if anybody has an in with a business owner such as one of the ale houses in town, restaurant, bagel place, car repair, hairdresser, etc. please ask that establishment to consider purchasing a billboard for a few hundred dollars. I'd be happy to send the information along to any interested parties.
Most of our games will require a scoreboard operator. On the fields where it is required, the home team is responsible for operating the scoreboard. Once the schedule comes out, I will have a better handle on which games will require us to provide the scoreboard operator. Every family should volunteer to operate the scoreboard at least once. As the season gets closer, I'd like to solidify a scoreboard schedule.
Finally, please don't hesitate to contact me throughout the season with any concerns you may have. If your concern is of a private nature, it will be held in the strictest confidence. I want the season to be a rewarding experience for the players and their families.
