Past weekend
Parents thanks for all the work you did to get the Halloween bash up and running. Thanks to all who helped setup, bring food and drink, supplies and labor, and very thankful for all the hard work getting shirts and girls stuff in place.
As I look at our last three tournaments I see such potential and we show great promise when the girls play as a team. I will keep promoting team activities and field teamwork.
I always said the this is a process and fall is for developing. I let all the kids know nobody's position is safe come spring. I want the girls to work hard and I will in the spring be fielding only the best players and they will get the lions share of the games. I'm asking you as parents to take these girls off on your own and have them work. As we can see from these game I feel we are one to two developed players to fielding a team that can compete each game. My pitchers need to challenge themselves to compete at this level consistently.
I never get completely satisfied when I see the girls keep progressing, remember just two short months ago they were playing in rec and I see they are getting up to speed with travel. I look for a variety of thing however this morning told me when they play together we have a decent team. We lost to a better team and I never lose sleep when I see them play up and not down.
I want you to know I continue to review stats and use that as one of my tools of play time. I encourage all the girls to hit and rarely gave them take signs. I will be working on bunting more as that was hurtful this weekend.
Reminder we will shut down for winter real close to thanksgiving. We have the facilities till end of November and it shuts down till January. I want two things one we get the girls and parents one night together for a gathering or cinema and suds (movie) and maybe once a few weeks before xmas.
Lastly, we have one more tournament and it's a charity one. I asked each girl to bring $10 to this tournament as there entry fee. I asked them to work for it and do something for the family or neighbor, this may seems corny, however this charity tournament has meaning and a dad that is no longer there for there family. This donation goes to help that child.
