Although the players felt the bat was easy to swing, they were not happy with the quality of contact generated by the Voodoo One. The bat was given a 2.90/5 on contact.

Look and feel finished at 2.90/5. The sound and appearance had positive feedback, but the performance had mixed reviews. The swing weight was divisive, as hitters either liked the light weight or found it too light. The one thing all players could agree on was the painful sting on mis-hits ringing through the alloy barrel and undampened by the grip. 

Players were disappointed with the sweet spot, citing a need for perfect accuracy to unlock any power. They also felt off-centered contact would cause reverberation and sting their hands, giving sweet spot a 2.30/5.

The DeMarini Voodoo One 2027 earned a 3.40/5 for balance. The bat was too light to offer enough resistance through the zone, making the players overs swing rather.

The bat scored a 2.50/5 on pop. Players felt the lightweight barrel did not generate excessive power and would hit more hard liners than long drives.

The highlight of the player reviews for the Voodoo One was control. The bat earned a 3.80/5, as the lightweight design allowed for players to make quick adjustments and cover the whole zone. However, the score dipped because power hitters felt the bat was too light to control effectively.

The DeMarini Voodoo One 2027 averaged 82.05 mph in exit velocity, with a top speed of 95.91 mph. Compared to the baseline, it decreased -4.11 mph ( -4.79%). This significant decline in speed shows the downside of a lightweight barrel, as it does not provide much power.

Average distance came in at 259.21 ft, with a high of 320.19 ft. The Voodoo One dropped -26.46 ft (-9.23%) below baseline. Similarly to exit velocity, the lightweight design did not produce much power, resulting in a substantial decrease in distance.

Sweet spot rate averaged 52.46%, finishing -0.67% relative to baseline. Although the bat struggled with power, the consistent contact generated stayed close to neutral on launch angle, showing off the Voodoo’s contact prowess.

The bat produced a 31.15% hard-hit rate and decreased -0.12% relative to baseline. Although there was a dip in exit velocity, the bat was able to produce a stable flow of balls at or above the hard hit threshold, proving that the sacrifices in power at least come with benefits in swing consistency.

Barreled rate was the lone positive in the Trackman profile. The Voodoo One averaged 6.56%, increasing by +1.46% above the baseline. The consistent and effortless swing of the Voodoo helped hitters square up the ball over the course of testing.

The DeMarini Voodoo One 2027 averaged 66.57 mph in bat speed, with a best swing of 74.03 mph. Compared to the baseline, it decreased by  -0.11 mph (-0.19%). This essentially neutral result suggests the lightweight design made getting the barrel through the zone easy, but did not build momentum throughout the swing.

Peak hand speed averaged 20.80 mph, with a top speed of 23.40 mph. The Voodoo One increased by +0.10 mph (+0.56%) above the baseline. Hitters were able to accelerate their hands and swing quickly with the lightweight barrel, making contact easier to achieve.

Time to contact averaged 0.145 seconds, with a best mark of 0.121 seconds. The bat finished -0.003 seconds (-2.08%) relative to the baseline. The quicker time to contact showed how hitters were able to make quick adjustments with the barrel and cover the entire strike zone to hit the ball where it is pitched.
