Marucci F5 2026 (BBCOR) Bat Review

Hitters were able to produce solid contact when squaring up the ball. However, the lack of forgiveness and the need for accuracy dropped the rating to a 3.10/5.

The players did not like the design or orange colorway, and the grip and knob had very negative reviews, even being called painful. The only saving grace of the feel rating was the easy swing weight, leveling the score to a 2.80/5.

Sweet spot also received a 2.70/5. The unforgiving barrel did not perform well on mis-hits, stinging the hitter’s hands and requiring precise swings to maximize power.

The Marucci F5 earned a 3.60/5 for balance. The balanced swing weight was easy to drive through the zone, but the players still did not love the way the bat felt in their hands.

Players reported limited power off the barrel, claiming the barrel was too small compared to some of the other BBCORs. They gave pop a 2.70/5, but it is worth noting that the actual data on power shows a better performance than the players perceived.

Control finished at 3.80/5, making it the highlight of the F5’s player reviews. Players felt confident directing the barrel through the zone and they especially liked the smooth and easy swing path.

The Marucci F5 packs a punch, shooting the ball of the barrel with blazing speed. Average exit velocity came in at 87.54, topping out at 94.41 mph. The bat finished +1.38 mph over the baseline, improving by +1.61%.

Average distance came in at 291.78 ft, with the best swing travelling 333.15 ft. The F5 finished +6.10 ft (+2.07%) above baseline. The increased exit velocity translated directly to added distance on the swing, and although the players felt the bat lacked pop, the 6 ft increase to average distance can be the difference between a fly out and an extra base hit.

Sweet spot rate averaged 64.47%, increasing +4.92% over the baseline. Although the players did not find the barrel forgiving, the bat produced excellent launch angle results on solid contact.

The bat produced a 30.26% hard-hit rate and finished +7.81% relative to the baseline average. As shown above with exit velocity, the F5 not only hits the ball with authority, it does so on a very steady basis, making this bat a reliable option for players who look for hard line drives.

Barreled rate averaged 6.58%, finishing -1.18% relative to baseline. This was the lone negative TrackMan metric, suggesting that while hitters generated more hard contact, slightly fewer swings reached the ideal combination of exit velocity and launch angle, meaning that hard contact was more prone to producing line drives than high arching fly balls.

Players were able to drive the Marucci F5 through the strike zone with speed and precision. The average bat speed came in at 67.67 mph, with a best swing of 74.28 mph. The bat increased by +0.89 mph ( +1.33%) over the baseline, showing the weight of the bat was easy to control while still building momentum.

Peak hand speed averaged 21.27 mph, with a top speed of 22.95 mph. The F5 finished +0.49 mph above the baseline, increasing by +2.48%. This was the strongest Blast Motion improvement, showing hitters accelerated their hands through the zone effectively and efficiently.

Time to contact averaged 0.143 seconds, with a best swing of 0.124 seconds. The bat finished -0.003 seconds ( -2.22%) relative to baseline. The quicker time to contact is another metric that shows the F5’s excellent control, helping hitters make quick adjustments and hit the ball where it is pitched.
