Ever wondered what it’s like to be an intern at a leading sports tech company? From invaluable mentorship to hands-on experiences, being an intern at GameChanger means diving into a world of innovation and opportunity.
THE SPIRIT OF OPENNESS
GameChanger has a ‘door wide open’ kind of culture and is committed to fully integrating their interns into the fabric of the company. Twenty two summer interns are proud to wear the GameChanger logo, and we’ve been invited to important company meetings and involved in key projects. We’ve also been given complete transparency and real behind-the-scenes looks at how the business runs. Interns are encouraged to take cross functional meetings to really get to know every department and person in the company, and everyone is very welcoming and willing to learn more about us as individuals, our role within the company, and what projects we are working on. From one-on-ones to company-wide meetings, the most consistent message has been, “feel free to reach out anytime if you need anything.”
A DEDICATION TO CREATIVITY
As a product within the sports tech space, GameChanger embeds a sense of creativity and dynamic energy into the company culture, enabling interns to create, participate, and contribute to everything from meetings to proposals. Every voice is truly valued and each intern is encouraged to bring their unique perspective every day. Though there is an organized management system, there is no hierarchy of ideas or voices — GameChanger believes in embracing and encouraging new ideas and is a company that is constantly evolving.
BUILDING A WELCOMING COMMUNITY
GameChanger is committed to creating a robust community even as a fully remote company. This is not a job that you mundanely clock in and clock out for — there’s an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with other interns and people around the company. GameChanger built this community from the beginning: the intern class began our remote internship orientation in person, with all of the leadership team and managers in attendance to create a real sense of camaraderie. When we went back to being fully remote again, we’re given the opportunity to participate in an online bonding activity like a scavenger hunt or playing family feud every week, which allows us to maintain these crucial relationships while being miles apart.
Every single intern at GameChanger is interested in working with the company in some form or fashion in the future, which speaks to the wonderful culture and creative space that GameChanger has built. You can really see the work that goes into fostering a space that is filled with ambitious, empowered, focused, customer-obsessed team players.
From sprinting to first base during orientation, rounding second in the office, and stretching for third in our remote work environment, this internship has been a home run experience through and through.
