Veteran youth sports executive strengthens GameChanger executive leadership team with more than two decades of experience

NEW YORK, N.Y., Feb. 5, 2026 — GameChanger, the #1 rated youth sports app for scorekeeping, live streaming, statistics, and team management, a DICK’S Sporting Goods company, today announced that David Shapiro has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Sales & Business Development. Shapiro joins GameChanger after serving as President, North America at Pixellot, where he led all U.S. and Canadian operations.
In his new role, Shapiro will join GameChanger’s executive leadership team and lead B2B sales and partnership strategy, oversee business development, clinics and conventions, lead generation, and strategic relationships across the youth sports ecosystem. He will play a key role in building on GameChanger’s already strong foundation and trusted relationships with leagues, organizations, and partners nationwide, helping deepen the platform’s impact for coaches, families, athletes, and operators.
“David brings a rare combination of deep youth sports experience and proven commercial leadership,” said Sameer Ahuja, president of GameChanger and senior vice president of DICK’S Sporting Goods. “He has spent his entire career building trusted partnerships, scaling businesses, and serving communities that care deeply about sports and character development. As we continue to grow GameChanger and increase the value that we provide to our users, David’s leadership will help us better support the organizations and families who rely on us every day.”
Before joining Pixellot, Shapiro served as Chief Executive Officer of Steel Sports, where he managed five business units that generated more than $20 million in annual revenue and reached more than 130,000 youth athletes. He also spent more than two decades with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), including roles as Chief Revenue Officer and Director of Business Development, and served 12 years on the organization’s executive team. After leaving PCA in 2015, he served on PCA's National Board of Directors until 2024.
A former collegiate baseball player at UC Davis, Shapiro has coached youth and high school baseball and remains deeply involved in youth sports as a league board member and parent of three student-athletes. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis, with a minor in Communications, and completed the Executive Program for Non-Profit Leaders at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Shapiro marks the fourth recent executive leadership addition at GameChanger, as the company continues to build on an already strong leadership foundation. This includes the recent appointments of Cynthia Kleinbaum Milner as Chief Commercial Officer, Brandon Rhodes as General Manager of Emerging Sports, and Briana Larkin as Chief People Officer. Together, these leaders further strengthen the company’s ability to deliver world-class technology, deepen leadership across the youth sports landscape, and support GameChanger’s broader vision to become The Home of Youth Sports.
