Leading Youth Sports App Ranked No. 17 Overall Among Other Global Companies
GameChanger, the leading youth sports app for live streaming, scheduling, statistics, and scorekeeping, has topped the list of the most innovative midsized companies (100-999 employees) on Fast Company’s “100 Best Workplaces for Innovators” list for 2024. Ranked No. 17 overall, GameChanger, owned by DICK’S Sporting Goods, joins an elite group of global companies celebrated for encouraging and developing innovation across all levels of their organizations.
“Our inclusion on Fast Company’s ‘100 Best Workplace for Innovators’ list is a testament to the creativity, passion, and dedication of our over 200 GameChanger teammates, ” said Sameer Ahuja, GameChanger president and DICK’S Sporting Goods senior vice president. “We are driven by a shared mission to revolutionize youth sports through technology, and this recognition underscores the innovative spirit that fuels everything we do.
Ahuja continued, “This achievement also would not have been possible without the tremendous support of our parent company, DICK’S Sporting Goods, whose purpose-driven culture has been the foundation of our growth and success. We’re honored to stand alongside some of the most forward-thinking companies in the world as we continue to build the first and best place to experience the youth sports moments important to youth sports families.”
GameChanger earned a spot on Fast Company’s list thanks to the relentless pursuit of innovation by teammates across every level of the organization. AutoStream, an AI-powered feature unveiled this year that automates the basketball live streaming video experience, originated from an intern’s idea. GameChanger’s culture of innovation fosters an environment in which every teammate, from entry-level to senior executives, can contribute big ideas and flourish into leaders, driving both personal and professional growth. The intern who ideated AutoStream was later hired as a full-time engineer.
GameChanger has also made significant investments in its team to encourage and support innovation. Their headcount has nearly tripled in size over the last three years with significant growth in the areas of artificial intelligence and computer vision. There has also been a concerted effort to diversify the pipeline of technical talent through deep, multi-year partnerships with non-profit organizations focused on inclusion in the tech industry.
The 2024 Best Workplaces for Innovators list ranks 100 winners from a variety of industries, including entertainment, biotech, consumer packaged goods, marketing, education, healthcare, and many more. GameChanger is also a two time recipient of the Fast Co. “Most Innovative Company” award, having won it in both 2022 and 2023.
