Project Play: MVC Coaching Summit Recap

In partnership with Center for Healing and Justice through Sport (CHJS) and The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation, GameChanger hosted the Most Valuable Coach (MVC) Coach Summit in Boston, Mass. as part of a the MVC campaign that was launched earlier this year at the Project Play Summit. The Coach Summit brought together more than 50 coaches from 35 organizations across 11 states for a day of healing-centered training and hands-on learning. Coaches represented 19 sports, including soccer, squash, flag football, rowing, golf, and adaptive sports. Participants explored practical coaching strategies that foster trust, belonging, and positive experiences for young athletes that extends far beyond Boston.
Coaches gained actionable tools and fresh insights they can immediately apply within their teams and communities. As they put their learning into practice, this group of coaches will extend the program’s impact to more than 8,600 young athletes.
The Summit highlighted the power of investing in coaches and reinforced the mission of the Most Valuable Coaches campaign: ensuring every young athlete has access to a positive and supportive sports experience. Check out a behind-the-scenes look at the learning below!
