When the Lady Vixens take the field, parents and fans near and far get a front-row seat thanks to softball dad and team videographer Ramsey. What started as a cell phone stream of the team’s games on GameChanger has evolved into a professional-quality, four-camera Mevo setup that captures every pitch, hit, and play from multiple angles.
Ramsey began live streaming his daughter’s softball games nearly four years ago so family members who couldn’t attend in person could still share in the excitement. “I’ve streamed almost 300 games,” he says. “It’s been incredible to track her progress through GameChanger over the years.”
After several seasons of live streaming from a phone, for the 2024 seasonRamsey decided it was time to take things to the next level.
Through trial and error, Ramsey taught himself how to set up and manage multiple Mevo cameras to live stream on GameChanger. What began as an experiment quickly turned into a major upgrade for his daughter’s team viewing experience.
“It was definitely a learning curve, but once I got it working, it changed everything,” he says. “The multi-camera setup gives viewers the best seat in the house, and the parents love it.”
Ramsey’s daughter is a pitcher, and the detailed video footage from each game has become a powerful learning tool. After games, he reviews key moments with her and shares clips with her pitching coach to help identify areas for improvement.
“Being able to go back and see every pitch is so valuable,” he says. “It helps her understand what’s working and what to adjust for next time.”
What began as a way to stay connected has become a true hobby and as Ramsey’s expertise has grown, so has his desire to help others. He now plays an active role in helping parents and teams learn how to stream using Mevo on GameChanger.
“When I first started, there wasn’t much information out there. I want to make it easier for the next person,” he says. “It’s rewarding to see other families get the same joy from streaming their kids’ games.”
For Ramsey’s family, GameChanger has become more than a scorekeeping and streaming app, it’s a way to bring loved ones together and document a journey that’s still unfolding. His wife’s sister watches every game from another city, cheering along as if she were in the stands.
Ramsey’s daughter dreams of playing college softball, with Texas A&M at the top of her list. The countless hours of live streamed games on GameChanger have created a library of memories and milestones that capture her growth from season to season.
“Recently we went to a Texas A&M softball game together,” Ramsey says. “Seeing her get so excited made me realize how important it is to keep capturing every game. Some day she might be the one on that field, and we’ll have every step of her journey to look back on.”
