Due to the forecast, todays game is cancelled. Enjoy the long weekend!
Todays game 5/16 is canceled due to weather
Unfortunately, Mother Nature has decided to mess with our scheduled game tonight. Our game is cancelled. Have a great week and see you all on Friday!
Kick Off Email
Holly, Chantelle, and I would like to welcome you to TEAM BREWERS! I know that we have a mix of new and returning parents/players. If this is your first experience with Williston Little League, rest assured it's an excellent organization with a lot of support from our community.
Spring is finally here and we're looking forward to a fun-filled season. Our mission is to have fun, be safe and help the kids learn and improve their skills as well as the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
There's a lot to unpack in this first email so let's get into it!
Our Roster:
Players:
Arik Amin
Brooklyn Gomez
Emma Wilson
Noah Luby
Riley Gomez
Tatum Seeholzer
Taylor Traub
Head Coach - Prineet Amin (you can call me Coach P) - prineet.amin@gmail.com 802-238-0562
Assistant Coach - Holly Amin (my wife and let's be honest, the real head coach!) - holly.mclane@yahoo.com 802-598-1833
Bench Manager/Safety Ambassador - Chantelle Seeholzer - chantelle.seeholzer@yahoo.com
Parent Participation:
In order for us to get the most of our t-ballers we need your help. There should be 1 parent/guardian planning to participate in practice as needed (ie, throwing practice with their child, helping keep kids where they need to be, etc). Plan on bringing a glove for yourself. As the season progresses, we'll spend more time scrimmaging and less time with parent/player drills.
COVID-19 Health Screening
More to come on this topic after I participate in the coaches meeting scheduled for next week.
GameChanger Classic App:
We will conduct most of our communication through the GameChanger Classic app
Please sign up for the GameChanger Classic app. It's free and easy to use. (The app logo is a "GC" with red baseball stitches across the top and bottom. Do NOT download the GC app that is hunter green.)
You should receive an invitation to our team group on the app today.
You will have access to practice and game schedules as that gets confirmed
There is a chat/message feature that proves very useful, especially when your kid leaves behind their equipment and you want to know if anyone picked it up (I know this personally). Also, in case of bad weather we will notify you of delays/cancellations through the app.
If you choose to not download the app please let me know as we'll need to make sure we communicate to you with other methods.
Equipment :
There will be NO SHARING of equipment. This means every kid will need their own glove, bat, helmet, and water bottle. If you do not have any or all of these pieces of equipment please contact me and we will work on loaning you WLL equipment for the season. If you're looking to purchase these items yourself, here are some ideas on where to shop: Play It Again Sports, Sierra Trading Post, Dick's Sporting Goods, Wal-Mart, Front Porch Forum, and the "Williston, VT Parents" Facebook group page. A 10-11 inch glove is a great size to start.
The league will be providing the kids with t-shirts and hats, and we plan to hand them out at our first practice. It's ok if they don't wear the t-shirts to every practice, but please try to bring their hats, the sun can be a bit blinding on the fields in the evening.
Practice/Games
Practice/Game Days and time are TBD. Practice/games are twice a week typically lasting an hour.
During each practice/game we will be splitting the field with another t-ball team. During the beginning of the season we can expect more time for skills and fundamentals and reserve some time at the end of practice to scrimmage against the other team. As the season progresses, we'll have more scrimmage time with the team we're splitting the field with.
Practices will be held at Brennan Woods Park - Field 3. This field is closest to the playground.
Please avoid food consumption on the field, only a water bottle is encouraged. We realize the kids get hungry and practice time is probably during your normal dinner time so it might be best to keep a snack in your vehicle for them after practice.
Field Day Event
Date and time are TBD, but are generally held in mid-April before the season starts. We'll communicate the date/time after the town releases the fields to us...let's hope Mother Nature is kind to us this year.
This event is optional. It will give you and the kids a chance to meet one another, prep the fields for the season, maybe throw a ball around, and ask any questions you may have.
Hit-a-Thon Event
Saturday, June 4th - mark your calendars! (Rainy day back up, Sunday, June 5th)
More info to come, but this event is a huge fundraiser for the Williston Little League. They have prizes and fun events for the kids. A photographer is at the event to take individual and team photos. They can't photoshop your kiddo in so we hope you can make it.
Phew, that was a lot to get through! I'm sure you'll have questions and I'll do my best to answer them or find the right person to answer them. We're looking forward to seeing you and your kids on the field!
